Amway announced on October 12, 2026, that George Aquino has been named president of Amway Hotel Corporation (AHC), effective Oct. 12, 2026. According to the Amway Global Newsroom announcement, Aquino succeeds Rick Winn, who has held the presidency since 2013 and will move into a part-time advisory role. The hospitality management company is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Aquino returns after more than two years as president and chief executive officer of Ayala Land Hospitality (ALH) in Manila, Philippines. Amway said his hospitality career spans more than three decades across Asia, North America and the Caribbean, including 31 years with AHC. From 2016 to 2024, he served as AHC’s vice president and managing director, helping expand its portfolio and develop its management-contract growth strategy. He also led the opening of the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and served as its general manager.
In his new role, Aquino will oversee enterprise strategy and operations. Amway identified guest experience, value for owners and the long-term performance of hospitality assets as priorities. According to the company, AHC manages 16 hotels with 2,800 rooms and 42 restaurants and lounges across Michigan, Florida and the British Virgin Islands. Its downtown Grand Rapids properties include the Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott Grand Rapids, AC Hotel by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown and Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown.
Michael Nelson, president and chief executive officer of Amway, cited Aquino’s experience and connections to Grand Rapids and West Michigan in explaining the appointment. Aquino described his return as personally meaningful and expressed appreciation for AHC’s associates, according to the announcement. At ALH, he oversaw 6,000 rooms across 25 properties and helped introduce the Moxy by Marriott and Canopy by Hilton brands to Manila, Amway said.
Winn has spent 29 years with AHC, including earlier roles as general manager of the Amway Grand Plaza and vice president and managing director. According to Amway, the hospitality portfolio at the start of his presidency comprised the Amway Grand Plaza, with 10 restaurants and lounges, and Peter Island Resort and Spa. Alongside his advisory role, Winn will continue serving on the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority, the Grand Rapids–Kent County Convention/Arena Authority, the Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. Board of Advisors and the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association.
For direct-selling readers, the announcement concerns leadership of Amway’s hospitality business. Amway identifies itself as a direct selling company headquartered in Ada, Michigan, U.S. The responsibilities outlined for Aquino relate to AHC’s hotels, restaurants and lounges; the announcement does not describe changes to Amway Business Owners’ activities.
